Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1967 with one unit each of B.Sc.-Non medical and & B.A. Mr. Bhatnagar was the founder Head of the Department. Since then it has the aim to be a center of excellence in Mathematics and been vigorously engaged in both research and teaching. In 2004 one unit of B.Sc.- Computer Science was initiated. In 2007, Master Programme M.Sc.-Mathematics was started. In 2013, One more Under-Graduate Programme was introduced namely- B.Sc.- MCM (Mathematics, Computer and Management) followed by B.Sc.-CSM ( Computer, Statistics and Mathematics) and B.Sc. hon’s School in Mathematics in 2015. The department has produced many students who got placement at respectable positions in teaching and research Institutes/organizations. The Department has organized several Seminars, Guest Lectures, Conferences with the help of funding agencies like PSCST, UGC and Others. The mission of the department is to enable students to build their knowledge and prepare them to exhibit their knowledge as future teachers and researchers.
